Sapwolf says goodbye to HotAir.

To my friends at HotAir, I just wanted to let you know that I've been restricted from posting comments at HotAir. I'm not sure why I have been prevented from commenting or if this has anything to do with HotAir's new management or if it has anything to do with the recent events in DC regarding the ramming through of Romneycare, oops I meant Obamacare. :-)

Anyway, I just want everybody to know that I enjoyed my time here. I love how it can be so fun and 'hot'. Maybe HotAir won't be so Hot anymore under new mgt. Thanks to fellow Catholic Ed and to AP, yes even AP, despite his Eyeorish and moderate ways chur ning out stories and commentary so I don't have to get it from the hard on the eyes Drudge site.

There have been so many characters on HA over the two + years I've blogged here but some names have to be mentioned: Concern troll extraordinaire AnninCA, Pooptech and his posting of Mitt's resume (a million times), the canuck Drywall in all his misery showing us what we hope not to be, and it goes on and on.

Most of you know that I am a strong supporter of Governor Sarah Palin and believe she would be a great President of the United States. You can count on that to continue as the Cuda's Crusade continues to grow and the real Sarah, the common-sense conservative and child of Reagan, continues to win the hearts and minds of the fellow Americans she so loves and holds dear in her heart. There will be a day in the future when you hear: "Sarah no longer needs weirding module." That day may be fast approaching, but I hope she never retires her 'original' palm pilot.

Those of you who are pulling for others in the GOP Primary need to ask yourselves "Am I a conservative?" Go here to find out. Is my candidate conservative? Will they have the courage to confront the federal beast and tame it. It is not enough to win the election. You MUST win with someone who will STOP the growth of government and begin the long process of trimming it back to its Constitutional limits or at least smaller than it is now. It is not enough to vote. That's coasting and that's how we got in this mess in the first place. Can you give money till it hurts? Can you give time and your feet on the ground? The enemy does and that is why they can entertain such abominations as the Slaughter rule and the use of Reconciliation for taking over 1/6th of the US economy.

Sarah is our happy warrior and will fight like no other and with courage, optimism, love for country, a twinkle in her eye and a selflessness that reminds me of the words 'And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."

On May 4th I will be on the ballot in my voter precinct as a GOP Precinct Executive. I am unchallenged, but I almost wish to be challenged so that I would have to burn all the blood, sweat and tears.... . The few I talked to to get my signatures to be on the ballot were ALL wonderful people and I look forward to leading the effort to swing back another 100 votes the GOP way this November and for those initiatives to slap down a growing state government. Hmmmm...what's the new nickname for Ohio?......New Jersey? Not on my watch.

I leave you with a quote from the greatest writer of the 20th Century, Gilbert Keith Chesterton, a man who I would have loved to meet, exchanged my Kimber 1911 SIS Ultra 45 for his Derringer, a pistol he bought on the way to his wedding because he liked the idea of being able to defend his wife with it, and gone out shooting with him.

The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of Conservatives is to prevent mistakes from being corrected. Even when the revolutionist might himself repent of his revolution, the traditionalist is already defending it as part of his tradition. Thus we have two great types--the advanced person who rushes us into ruin, and the retrospective person who admires the ruins. He admires them especially by moonlight, not to say moonshine. Each new blunder of the progressive or prig becomes instantly a legend of immemorial antiquity for the snob. This is called the balance, or mutual check, in our Constitution.
