It's Not about the Public Interest; It's about Tripp's Best Interest!

I'm going to break my own self-imposed rule and make a comment about Levi Johnston. Although Bristol Palin wishes for the custody case for Tripp to remain private, a judge thought otherwise. Upon reading statements from Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston, I saw a stark contrast.

Bristol Palin said in her statement: "due to the overwhelming media interest in my family and in Levi Johnston, I believe it would be in Tripp's best interest for this custody matter to be closed, and for everyone associated with this case to refrain from talking to the media about this case." (emphasis mine)

Levi Johnston said in his statement: "
"Simply put, this matter is public in nature, the courts are not refuges for the scions of the elite to obtain private dispensation of their legal matters because the public at large has an interest in the proceedings"(emphasis mine)

I think that tells us all we need to know about the priorities of these two young individuals. This case isn't a chance to capture our country's sad fascination with family drama or to overstay one's fifteen minutes of "fame"; it's about the best interest of a child.

This court proceeding is between Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin. It is none of our business what occurs with this. We, the American public, should butt out, keep quiet, and pray that the outcome is in Tripp's best interest.

That's all you'll hear from me regarding this.
