Tonight I went to see the movie, The Blind Side, with my family. It was an excellent movie! I would highly recommend it. As I went online to check the show times at our local theater, I noticed that there was a significant difference between the critics' "grade" of the movie and the "grade" from the everyday person. The critics gave the movie a C+, and the "everyday people" gave the movie an A. See here.
It made me think of how the "lame stream media", as Governor Palin refers to them, and many elite political pundits view the Governor. If they were to grade the Governor, they would likely give her a less-than-desirable grade. She's too inexperienced. She's unintelligent. She's a quitter. She's an extremist. However, if you ask a lot of "everyday Americans", they would likely give her a very good grade. She understands people. She is true to her convictions. She is a true conservative.
Movie critics are few. It is the everyday person who goes and buys the tickets to see the movie, and then tell their friends and family how much they enjoyed it. Elite political pundits are few also. It is the everyday person who purchases the Governor's book, waits overnight for a book signing, or watches a TV interview to see what she has to say.
Governor Palin is not perfect, but she resonates with many Americans. Whether her desire to is to continue to speak out untitled or if her desire is to one day run for higher office, we stand with her, all of us as imperfect Americans who want to ensure our freedoms are maintained. We do this with or without the approval of the elites.
